Penny4NASA is a public advocacy campaign launched in 2012 to build support for a stronger and more ambitious American space program. The campaign is inspired by the idea that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) receives only a tiny fraction of the federal budget, and that even a modest increase in national investment could dramatically expand scientific discovery, technological innovation, and human exploration of space.

Through videos, public outreach, petitions, and educational content, Penny4NASA has helped millions of people better understand the value of space exploration and the role NASA plays in science, technology, education, Earth observation, and long-term human progress.

The campaign became especially well known through the viral video We Stopped Dreaming, which encouraged viewers to think about the future humanity wants to build and the importance of investing in exploration and discovery.

Today, Penny4NASA continues as part of Space Advocates’ broader mission to promote public engagement in space policy, science education, and the future of space exploration.
